COLUMBIA, S.C. (The Post and Courier) Gov. Nikki Haley ceremonially signed a restructuring bill inside the Statehouse Wednesday, surrounding herself with the family of former late Gov. Carroll A. Campbell and recognizing her likely opponent in the November election.

“Today, we have made history,” Haley said.

The bill hands more authority to Haley to oversee state agencies under a new Department of Administration. It also hands the Legislature more power to investigate the executive branch, including the ability to subpoena documents and executive branch personnel.
